Incompass Michigan is a statewide network of comprehensive human service providers working together to develop independence and achieve inclusive communities. Today, InCompassMI boasts a wide array of Services and Support to individuals with disabilities including Employment Services, Job Placement, Job Coaching, Business Services, Skill Building, Self-Employment and Micro-Enterprise Development, School-To-Work Transition programs, and many more.

Their mission is to support their members in successfully achieving a forum for innovative ideas and best practices leading to diverse, inclusive communities with prominent levels of independence and quality of life.

InCompass Michigan began researching online learning in 2019 and decided to offer their education online for on-demand learning about leadership, safety training, talent development, grant writing, and more. InCompassMI wanted a platform that could offer synchronous and asynchronous learning, badging and micro credentialing, certificates, CEUs and the ability for managers to check employee progress. They also needed it to be easily integrated with their AMS, SilkStart.



InCompassMI chose Digitec and their Knowledge Direct® Learning Management System (LMS). Digitec offers an in-house IT and support staff with experience in SilkStart integrations. The Knowledge Direct® Learning Management System allowed InCompassMI to pivot their existing training to online. With quick and easy setup, InCompassMI has been able to offer courses at reasonable prices while maximizing member engagement.

The Knowledge Direct Learning Management System (LMS) supports InCompassMI certification programs, ad-hoc learning requiring courses be taken in sequence, and flexible registration and completion rules. Additionally, the system supports blended learning for Webinars and later their recordings.



By utilizing Digitec’s Knowledge Direct LMS, InCompassMI is able to:

  • Address the educational needs of its ever-growing audience with interactive and engaging e-Learning.
  • Bring membership certificate to an online venue.
  • Give each student an online Transcript for tracking progress.
  • Support responsive mobile access to learning content.
  • Add gamification to their online offerings.
  • Assist learners with Competency models and gap analysis
  • Supply Live Online Events (Webinars or Hybrid Events)
