The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) is the world’s leading independent organization for data-driven marketers. DMA is an advocate for industry standards for responsible marketing, both online and offline. Promoting relevance as the key to reaching consumers with desirable offers, DMA provides cutting-edge research, education, and networking opportunities to improve results throughout the end-to-end marketing process. DMA views education as a key driver to promote these goals as well as drive new revenue to the association.

DMA’s membership is comprised of individuals who are tech-savvy and responsible for carrying out the daily communication and public relation activities of the world’s top brands. In the fast-paced, ever changing world of marketing, it is important that professionals continuously refresh their skills and stay abreast of changes in the laws and technologies that guide their work. In order to better serve this audience and remain competitive, DMA set out to replace their existing online Learning Management System (LMS) with a more flexible and easy-to-use platform their learners would enjoy.

There were five areas in particular where DMA sought improvement over their existing learning management platform and provider: better communication and prompt technical and customer support, the ability to stream video-based courseware, multilingual courses, integration with iMIS, their association management system (AMS), and an integrated course catalog and eCommerce shopping cart.

THE SOLUTION

DMA found the replacement LMS they were looking for when they discovered Digitec Interactive and their Knowledge Direct® Learning Management System. Integration with DMA’s existing website as well as their AMS created a more seamless entry for learners into the learning management system, and allowed the systems to share user data, track course purchases and instantly assign new courses to students.

THE RESULT

As a result of implementing the new, user friendly LMS, integrating the system with iMIS and the association’s website, DMA’s members enjoyed a simpler, more convenient shopping experience, resulting in increased course sales. The association was also able to begin offering video-based courseware, and grow their international audience in China and Japan, as well as around the world.
